One Day

deep earth ploughed constant

secrets compelling  seduce –

land spent, exhausted

rivers twist and turn

deep lies hidden, forgotten –

the heart emerges

porphyry cloak rests

a field impoverished wails:

do now wrap our tears

trees bring forth new fruit

seed never really alone –

their worm does now die

cradle of cosmos

nest calling birds from the tomb –

oecumene take flight!
