Saving Moments

Thick mists wrap around me
snowflakes rest upon my head
trees rise far above me;
where death is softly bred

The scent of earth is near
the days are growing short
fallen leaf sheds a tear
running time to thwart

Infinite moments cry
when will you rebel?
If we are all to die
then let us die well

Written for Moi’s weekly challenge Once More With Feeling #18 in response to the photo prompt. I was also inspired by the movie The Fault in Our Stars which reminded me how important each and every moment of our life is… and how many moments of my life have died a less than noble death.
